One more ride before leaving this beautiful island i choosed the mountains again. Le Morne, Baie du Cap, Chamarel, Black River Gorges National Park and Grand Bassin. But step by step...

After doing my first rides on Mauritius just one cardinal point - the most north was missing. For this ride i had to cross Port Louis and so i decided to do this tour on a sunday to escape the daily traffic during the work days.

For my east end tour i decided to start at the airport and so i took a taxi early morning. The full ride is basicly also ok, but temperatures for long hours would have been too much that day.

For the southbound tour i decided to go straight the coast line to reach the southernmost point of Mauritius - Souillac. The first part i knew already from my veryWest ride to Le Morne, but from there i rode a new part of the island.

The general plan was to ride all outside points of the island reg cardinal points. First stopp was le Morne 556m, a big rock-mountain in the very west and on the same side where our hotel was situated - we even saw le Morne from our beach.

In a quite warm European winter where we as well did not have access to our appartment in Altenmarkt/Zauchensee, we decided to leave winter and jump into summer. So we booked a trip to Mauritius - the small island in the indian ocean. As summer holidays is for me also riding my bike, betty needed to go with us and did so.

After the appetite the day before i needed to do a real ride. So i decided to go towards the cape. The increadible outlook at the costal road and as Cape Town Cicle Tour was ahead many many riders were out that day. And this was just the appetizer as the day after 40.000 riders joined the Tour.

My first business trip doing the worldwide sales for SP was from european spring time to south african fall. Cape Town one of the hosting city of the world soccer cup 2010.

After the hot sandy dessert ride that day, i met with one guy from our importing company at the Autodrome in Dubai.

There are rides which are good to have and you´ve seen but without a real reason you will not do anymore. The city of Dubai was at that time not really bicycle friendly. There are some paths you can go but on the road i guess it is not healthy and you hardly survive.
