southernMost Point - Souillac
For the southbound tour i decided to go straight the coast line to reach the southernmost point of Mauritius - Souillac. The first part i knew already from my veryWest ride to Le Morne, but from there i rode a new part of the island.
Right after Le morne the road is dirctly at the coast line and therfore i always had a beautiful view to the sea and it´s soft waves behind the reef. The next highlight was the windy road with it´s horizontal hairpin at Baie Du Cap. The road is splitting the last rock and offers a wonderful feeling riding through.
Reaching Souillac i decided to go over the mountains - the Black River Gorges National Park. Starting with an easy uphill through banana fields it quickly became steeper and it was quite hard as the outdoor season was still young. But reaching the top the view in all direction was incredible. A nice descent, unfortunately on mainly wet road due to water springs around, brought me back to the coastal road in Case Noyale. On the way down is a nice look out to see the big reef and cristal rock, a still growing above sea level coral. Riding back to the junction to Flic en Flac the downhill to the beach was always a Strava ride to ending in top 10.
