Auckland kiwiLoop - riding on the other side

First i have to say that unfortunately either strava nor relieve was recording this ride in a propper way as signal was too weak. Nevertheless i did a nice vid which you can find below.

The first time in New Zealand was in the fall 18, weather was really bad and it was also difficult to rent a bike. This time it was spring and i used platform Livelo to get the bike delivered directly to the hotel. When i was arriving at the hotel the bike was already in the room and it was also a high quality Specialized tarmac too - so no excuses anymore.

I started in the harbour close to my hotel and on nice bike lanes and paths it was easy and quick having Auckland behind going westwards. The goal was to ride the forrest up to Waitakere and maybe touch the ocean on this side. Temperature was 20-25° but humidity lower than the 2 rides before in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. I was crossing Waitemata Harbour on a dam and the view looking back to Auckland was already great not even reaching the mountains. Leaving the city and starting the climb brought me into nice quiet roads in a spring forrest up to Waitakere. From a touristic outlook i could see onto Auckland and the whole bay - the view was insane.

But still i had most of my ride still in front and i descended down to Titirangi following afterwards the big bay going east. Goal was to reach the other side of the north iland of New Zealand at Wai O Taiki Bay. So i did and again i followed a nice coast line leading me back into Auckland. Sandbeaches and a lot of coffee shops let the feeling come up to be here for holidays. I finished again at the nice harbour downtown to relax and enjoy the sun. Luckily gravity was working the same way like home riding the other side.
