Port Washington - Lake Michigan

A successful business trip was almost over and i had time to do a final ride before crossing the Atlantic the next day. More time ment a longer ride going north to Port Washington at Lake Michigan.

The ride began along the Milwaukee River Trail, passing through Riverwest, Eastbrook Park, and Lincoln Park. From there, I ventured into new territory, reaching Glendale and then following a long trail along a train line, the Oak Leaf Trail. My first stop was Brown Deer, where I enjoyed a nice cafe along the route. The trail continued straight until Mequon, marking 25% of the ride completed. The landscape was scenic but quite flat for the first few kilometers.
The route then became more winding as I rode through fields and headed towards Grafton, a charming small town. Leaving the Milwaukee River behind, I headed east toward Port Washington, the northernmost point of my ride. Port Washington, with its quaint harbor, seemed like an ideal spot to relax by the lake and enjoy some time on a boat.
After a brief stop, I turned south to return to Milwaukee, taking a different route along Lake Shore Road. The road was lined with large, beautiful houses, and as I neared Fox Point, the ride became more urban. Crossing Whitefish Bay, I made my way back to downtown Milwaukee, where I stopped at the museum one last time before heading to the hotel to pack Betty for my flight to Europe.
