Good Morning Milwaukee
Arriving from Denver and high altitude, a few smaller riders in Milwaukee were a nice roll-out. Before our set up day at the NVP show i said good morning to the city and Lake Michigan.
An early start is always worth it, especially when you get to experience a sunrise like the one in Milwaukee. The early wake-up is part of the deal, but it’s rewarding when you feel so much better by the time you reach breakfast.
I headed straight to Lake Michigan, crossing the Milwaukee River with its lifting bridges. It was just a few blocks east to the lake, where I also passed the Milwaukee Art Museum, a major tourist and architectural highlight. From there, I continued north, making my way to a trail that follows the Milwaukee River upstream. The morning air was fresh, but the trail was comfortable, leading me to Lincoln Park, not far from Whitefish Bay.
After that, I took a different bike path back and used Humboldt Blvd to return to the hotel. It was a nice, easy ride, a perfect way to start the day.
