G_N#5 Col de la Cayolle 2.326m

That day unfortunately Gerhard had to leave us due to a family topic and so ten of us were left for the last 2 days. And if you think it was done - then Col de la Cayolle with its 2.326m told you its not.

Needless to say the weather was great that day and still i believe its right when they say: when angels travel...

Anyways motivated like every day we took our challenge and not far from our home base in Barcelonnette we were again in a climb. The landscape changed though as we did hit nice valleys with little rivers flowing in huge river beds between a million of stones. So with the river Bachelard following or better coming against as during the first climb of the day.

It turned out to be one of the nicest climbs with Col de la Cayolle. A beautiful landscape, narrow roads and no traffic at all. That day we had a fully motivated LG in the front and so we had a quite speedy climb up there. Step by step the rest came and we just a bit of a descent had our most beautiful lunch pick nick which we enjoyed a lot. Eating like emperiors and also a 2nd bumblebee that joined us.

That stop also gave us the view to our ending scene of part one of our video.

The descent also brought a lot of nice scenery and it felt like riding through fresh vulcano rocks.

More and more we began to count down the climbs we still have to do. Another one that day was the climb up to Valberg again a ski ressort. Riding over from SaintMartin-d'Entraunes to Guillaumes the ascent to Valberg still had some percentage to cover but the cake and the coffee on top gave back immediately power we needed before.

From there it was not far anymore to Beuil our last hotel coming to our final stage to Nice. The hotel i guess was the highest in terms of sea level and very nice. Good food and a signature dessert. Even very a little village it was also the meeting point of 4 Deloreans - the car from Back to the Future.

That evening was already much closer to a celebration we are used to - and wine came into the game...
