G_N#1 Thonon-Les Gets-Megeve-Praz

With this tour our Mission 2022 started. The ride over the Alps from Lake Geneve to Nice. A tour of 6 stages carrying most of the nice names of famous climbs included in Tour de France.

Our starting point was Thonon les Bains. We arrived the day before, assembling our bikes from flying to Geneve. That day we also met our guide (her) Melina and the good soul Martin driving our bags from hotel to hotel. I guess all of as were a little nervous when we received our first briefing at dinner - by the way without any alcohol. During the week as we had more and more climbs in feet already that changed a bit.

The first challanges Les Getes and Megeve. All in all a nice intro-ride with a nice highlight touching Mt Blanc which stood  strong in the landscape and was clearly visible due to a perfect weather - which luckily kept the whole week. The travel of angels - how we would say.

The start was like a sprint race and so we splitted after approx 5k which was not amusing everybody. But soon we found a pace we all agreed to go and next to riding also enjoy the surroundings and talk to each other a bit. The climbs of this first stage though were used to find out the own but also the shape of the other team members. With around 1.600 elevation it was also a nice get into a rhythm.

In Les Gets Martin surprised as with a lunch break with a lot of good food - which we agreed was even too much and not very professional like.

Nevertheless during the week we found out that this was quite convenient.

Arriving in our 2nd hotel the first day we all used the time to do different things; having a beer, relax, stretch or enjoy the sun - but also for servicing the bike. We all were happy with this start and ready for our next climbs.
