highestPoint on Brac - Vidova Gora 780m
I started early that day, but the strong Bora winds made it difficult, so I decided to delay my ride and embrace the full heat of the day. My goal was to reach Vidova Gora, the highest point on the island of Brac.
Starting at 9:30 AM, the temperature was already 30°C. The ride was not too long — about 55km — but involved a climb from sea level to 780 meters and then the same route back. The first hill was familiar from previous rides, but then the climb continued steadily, passing through Lozisca, Dracevica, and Nerezisca. This road was busier since it’s the only route to the island’s eastern side.
The road became steeper and more winding as I reached the junction for Farska, but I took a left turn toward Vidova Gora. It was a quiet, scenic road, though I occasionally passed taxis bringing tourists up to enjoy the view.
After 26km of climbing, I reached the top, where the steep southern slopes offered a breathtaking view of Bol and the nearby island of Hvar, with its town of Stari Grad.
The descent was enjoyable, especially as the first part passed through a forest, keeping the temperatures manageable. Rolling downhill under the sun was a pure joy, with the island's peaceful beauty all around. I quickly returned to Milna and the hotel, grateful for another memorable ride.
