Taiwan eastnorthwest Coastal Ride

For this ride i was looking to a more outside Taipei and surrounding hills tour. My favourite Giant shop was again the start for it and as always riding nice bike paths.

First along Tamsui River leading into River Keelung and touching the always visible landmark Taipei101. Already almost done my east movement it was now time to climb 768m high Fengguizui mountain where 3 mountain roads are meeting. At a little kiosk i had a coffee and enjoyed the view from there before descending direction north to the coast. A nice curvy road with some hair pins brought me down to Wanli reaching the coast. From here no mountain anymore but still 70k on the coastal road to go.

Coming to the touristic fishing town of Laomei i reach the most northern point of Taiwan. An awesome scienery with a nice harbour with the touch of holiday feeling. From now on i had to go back to the south along the eastcoast road. Tamsui river was interrupting the coastline as ending there into the South Chinese Sea. So from there the river was leading me again back to Taipei City and after 130k i was lucky to finish this ride with a Peroni beer at my favourite beer stand close to the Giant shop.
