Formula 1 Singapore Ride
Singapore a superlative city/country and working themselves on becoming the greenest city in the world. Therfore also a lot of bike lanes are already there and planned.
On the other hand also a annual host of Formula 1. This was the target for this ride. Leaving the bike store i needed to go towards the center. Comfortable bikelanes brought me to the big nice downtown bay which i circumnavigated. Touching the national stadium i then reached the Marina Bay Street Circus with its pit lane. All big names of formula 1 drivers were still displayed from the last F1 race normally held in september. Right after the pit lane i hit the next tourism highlight like the Singapore Flyer (big wheel) and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
Crossing Otters signaled the way into the Gardens by teh Bay with it´s Silver Garden, Flower Dome, Supertree Grove and many more. Passing all these green attractions it was time to leave the touristic part of this tour and do a bit padelling. Riding further on bike lanes i moved up to end of the island on the east side where also the international airport is located facing quite strong headwind. Normally i could have stayed there already waiting for my flight, but needed to bring back the bike though - now with backwind. This ride showed me that the most effective and easy way to discover a city is by bike.
